Nagamori Sheet Metal's Roots - A 99-Year Story of Gunma's Architectural Sheet Metal and Craftsmanship
— The History and Craftsman's Soul of Nagamori Sheet Metal —
In Taisho-era Gunma, amidst the flying sparks of night, the sound of tin echoed.
A single craftsman continued to work, protecting the lives of people sleeping under their roofs.
That echo quietly lives on, even 99 years later.

The Beginning of a Century-Long Story
Our company, Nagamori Sheet Metal Co., Ltd., traces its roots back approximately 100 years to Taisho 15 (1926).
Our history began the moment founder Yoshitaro Nagamori opened a small tin shop in Hanawa, Seta-gun, Gunma Prefecture (present-day Midori City).
At that time, along the Ashio Line, many houses had thatched or cedar bark roofs, and fires caused by sparks from steam locomotives were a problem.
Yoshitaro Nagamori focused on using tin for roofing to protect homes from fire.
By utilizing tin cans (18-liter cans) and employing techniques like English roofing, he brought new life to architectural sheet metal work in Gunma.
The passion and skill of the craftsman holding tin became the foundation of Nagamori Sheet Metal, and that spirit has been passed down to this day.
Family Bonds Forged During Wartime
Time progressed to Showa 19 (1944).
Amidst the harsh conditions of wartime, the eldest son, Kiichi Nagamori, joined the family business at the age of 15.
Though young, a step towards the future was taken here.
After the war ended, in Showa 21 (1946), the second son, Etsuji Nagamori, also began supporting the family business at 15.
Furthermore, in Showa 27 (1952), the third son, **Doji Nagamori (Michiji)**, joined at 15.
The brothers united, honing their skills relying on family bonds.
These efforts built the foundation for Nagamori Sheet Metal's subsequent leap forward.

First Step to Establishment - A New History in Gunma
In Showa 45 (1970), **Doji Nagamori (Michiji)** established "Nagamori Sheet Metal" in Nishikata, Nitta-gun, Gunma Prefecture (present-day Midori City).
Breaking away from the sheet metal shop run by his brothers, a new history rooted in Gunma began.
This moment marks the direct roots of the current Nagamori Sheet Metal Co., Ltd., and the first step in a 55-year challenge since its founding.
As architectural sheet metal professionals handling roofs, exterior walls, and rain gutters, we have continued to refine our skills to protect the lives in Gunma.

Fusion of Tradition and Innovation - Evolution into the Modern Era
Nagamori Sheet Metal continued to evolve thereafter.
In September 2005 (Heisei 17), we advanced to a new stage as a corporation, strengthening our organizational foundation.
In 2014 (Heisei 26), Hitoshi Nagamori assumed the position of representative, beginning a new leadership looking towards the future.
Then in 2016 (Heisei 28), we became a Solar Tube authorized dealer as "Skylight Tube Gunma / Nagamori."
We delivered innovative natural light technology to Gunma, greatly expanding our business.
Furthermore, in April 2020 (Reiwa 2), Yoshiki Nagamori led the launch of Yahoo! Shopping "SHEET METAL NAGAMORI," achieving nationwide expansion.

99 Years of History Resonating into the Future
Nagamori Sheet Metal's history spans 55 years since its establishment, and tracing its roots, 99 years.
It has expanded from Gunma to Tochigi and Saitama, continuing to resonate into the future.
Nagamori Sheet Metal, embodying the spirit of craftsmanship and innovation in its DNA, will continue to pursue masterful techniques to support customers' lives as architectural sheet metal professionals.
This long journey since the Taisho era is not merely a accumulation of years, but a crystallization of the passion embedded in each and every job.
As younger generations join, that crystallization is passed on to the next hands, powerfully etching the future.
The hands that have worked for 38 years will pass to the sons, and the craftsmanship that endures for 100 years will pierce the future.
That echo will not cease, continuing to protect the next generation.
With gratitude to our predecessors and former generations, we entrust the future to the fourth generation.
